Three Islands of Palawan 2018

Palawan is one of the prides of the Philippines. With its clear waters and mesmerizing beauty, anyone who visits will definitely fall in love.

April this year, I brought my mom with me to see Palawan. We flew from Manila to Puerto Princesa. From there, we took a van for 4+ hrs to El Nido; then took a ferry for 4hrs from El Nido to Coron.

Puerto Princesa

This is where the famous Underground River's located.

This is where they harvest Tamilok (woodworm) -- their famous exotic food.

El Nido

My favorite.

If you're planning to visit here, be aware that there are different package adventure tours El Nido offers:

Tour A - Small Lagoon, Big Lagoon, Secret Lagoon, Shimizu Island and 7 Commando Beach.

Tour B - Snake Island, Pinagbuyutan Island, Entalula Beach, Cudugnon Cave, Snorkeling Site

Tour C- Helicopter Island, Matinloc Shrine, Secret Beach, Star Beach, Hidden Beach

Tour D - Ipil Beach, Cadlao Lagoon, Paradise Beach, Pasandigan Beach, Natnat Beach, Bukal Beach

You can either book them in advance on any legit travel agency or you can take your chances and book it when you get there. And these packages come with food --the boatmen prepare and cook your food for you while island hopping.

They say the most popular ones are Tour A and Tour C. Personally, my favorites are Small Lagoon, Big Lagoon and Secret Beach.

But, if you're traveling with a big group, (I heard) you can rent a boat and negotiate with a boatman and just go to the islands / lagoons you want to visit in your own time and pace. You just have to ask the locals.

Coron

Our last stop before going back to Manila.

Unlike El Nido, our island hopping in Coron was more personalized. We had our own boat. So we basically chose our own destinations.

And just before we leave Palawan, we stayed one night at Huma Island-- felt like we rented the entire island ourselves during our entire stay.
